Here's what you need to know!

Starting July 1, 2026, flexi-jobs will also be permitted in the construction sector. This applies to PC 124 (construction workers) as well as related construction sectors.

Specifically, this means:

  1. Within PC 124, flexi-jobs on construction sites are only permitted for retired construction workers.

  2. Other positions that do not require basic safety training (ateliers, support services, logistics, etc.) are open to everyone.

Who is eligible to work as a flexi?

Employees

An employee must have worked at least 4/5 of the time during the third quarter preceding the flexi-job quarter for one or more other employers.

What counts toward 4/5 employment:

  • periods of illness

  • work-related accidents

  • maternity leave

  • temporary unemployment under contract

What doesn't count toward 4/5 employment:

  • flexi-job work

  • seasonal work

  • parental leave

  • student work

Retirees

PC 124 applies only to retired construction workers, who are permitted to perform flexi-jobs in all roles.

  • Employee with a statutory pension?

    May start working immediately.

  • Employee retiring soon?

    Can start working immediately upon retirement if they were employed at least 4/5 of the time up to that date. Otherwise, they must wait one quarter.

How much can an employee earn in addition?

  • Employee aged 66 or with a 45-year career?

    May earn additional income without restriction.

  • Employee younger than 66?

    Income limits depend on the individual’s personal situation. If the limits are exceeded, the pension will be reduced.
